Be Not Afraid
A downloadable game for Windows
Not done a game jam in a while, not done a game in a while and I decided to crash course Godot for a 2 day long game jam!
Very stressful but a good fun refresher of games development and doing something with a strict deadline... made me feel like I was back in university lol
Moving along!
'Be Not Afraid' is (or would have been if I had longer on it) a psychological horror game where you're told to follow the lights to leave. If you follow the lights you will indeed see the ending cube and the game will close. You can explore though, it'll just be pitch black and you might upset someone.
Here is the Git repo from start to finish over the past 2 days: https://github.com/Kouda-Ha/MicroJam004Light
I kind of want to finish it and improve on it in the future so any changes to the repo from now are not going to be updated into the game jam entry as that'd be cheating.
Bugs / things I ran out of time for:
- I had an enemy and he wasn't killing me, or tracking me like he should have, decided to delete him / switch to a new branch from main and just have no specific enemy chaser.
- Collecting all orbs/cubes/etc that origionally were placed didn't end the game as I wanted it to, it didn't print to console that I'd "won" so it wasn't registering, quick fix right at the end of the jam was to just quit the game if you touch the* cube
- sound was a bit bugged as it was my first time playing with it... I'd like sound to be mostly proximity based which would be an easy fix but all the audio was pretty much just recorded and thrown in at the last couple of minutes before deadline lol
